About Our Classes
All our classes are taught by NRA Certified Instructor Ryan Willis. Ryan is certified in Home Firearm Safety, Basic Pistol, and FIRST Steps Pistol. In addition, he is a black belt in various forms of martial arts. Ryan has taught personal protection classes for over fifteen years. The courses currently offered are explained below.
Concealed Handgun Class:
Our Concealed Handgun Class teaches the basics of handgun safety and use. Completion of this course meets the requirement to apply for your Concealed Carry License (also called Concealed Weapons Permit) in WV, VA, and many other states. This course is also known as the NRA's Home Firearm Safety Course. Students receive booklets with information about safety, ammunition, and identifying, unloading, cleaning, firing, and storing various firearms. Students also receive pamphlets from the Attorney General, covering topics like reciprocity, gun laws, etc. All you need to bring is your photo identification - we supply firearms for instructional purposes. This course is approximately three hours in length and costs $85 per person. Click here to register for this class.
Online Firearm Safety Course for Virginia:
This online course meets the requirement to apply for your Concealed Carry License in Virginia (valid for residents and non-residents). The course consists of five chapters of information, covering such topics as safety, legal information, instructions on using and maintaining a firearm, and much more. After reading the chapters, students complete a quiz in order to obtain their certificates. The course costs $39.99 and requires approximately one hour of time for reading. Refuse To Be A Victim Class:
The Refuse To Be A Victim course gives you the information you need to develop a personal safety strategy. Our goal is to teach you to be proactive in your approach to avoid dangerous situations. We also give you the knowledge you need to defend yourself in circumstances beyond your control. This class will be offered in the near future. Please contact us if you are interested.
